Komende is a free educational platform that focuses as much on the learning experience, as we do the content we create. Our bread and butter is fintech education — anything from how AI is protecting bananas, to cryptocurrency’s role in disrupting traditional banking establishments. We believe that fintech has the opportunity to help numerous people with both expanding their financial literacy, and providing people with the power to take control of their lives through technology.
We realised that the reason the adoption of the technology appears to be confined in a tech bubble was simply: access. Access to the information and the people creating it. Most people don’t have the trifecta needed when learning this new technology: time, money, and the attention span. At this moment, getting any information about and around fintech is an amalgamation of enrolling in intensive university courses, that may be free but require large time commitments, unwavering interest, and dedicating time simply searching for additional content to teach them. Content that is typically presented in long, complicated articles. It is a quick and easy deterrent for those who are curious but not determined. This is why our content is created and presented through videos, infographics, short articles and other creative mediums.
Komende wants to be the place where curious minds feel comfortable. A place where they can visit and leave knowing being informed, entertained, and actually understanding a variety of concepts. Fintech has created a branch of technology exclusive to education— EdTech, yet it hasn’t been used to address the technology itself. We want to be the next step in fintech and bring to life the fintech mission of helping consumers achieve financial health to create a more equitable economy.
